Most of you know that EPIC is an acronym for Emitting Positive Impact Collectively. Over the past few weeks we have seen this come to life by so many folks looking to support the relief efforts for our neighbors in Western North Carolina. To see the power of the common good, the selfless desire to help those in need, and how this kindness and generosity restore a new sense of community and togetherness, are nothing short of EPIC.
We are so proud to be part of this amazing Outer Banks Community. From Matt's initial requests for supplies to fill private aircraft and send them to the affected areas via Operation Airdrop, to donations made to assist volunteer pilots with fuel costs, we were able to move almost 70,000 pounds of relief supplies within days of the disaster. A huge thank you to Operation Airdrop, Outer Banks Aviation, The Dare County Airport Authority, the Currituck Regional Airport, the volunteer pilots, and our friends at East Carolina Radio for helping us get the word out.
We know the road to recovery will be a long one, and we will continue to find ways to assist with the relief efforts. In the meantime, we want to make sure we support those individuals, businesses, and organizations who are actively contributing to relief efforts. The Outer Banks Community Foundation, Michael Stokes of Flying Fish Ink, Buxton Seafood, and Ronda Galko of Howard Hanna Real Estate are just a few of the shining examples of the continued support coming from the Outer Banks and mainland Currituck. We've listed their information below so that you too can continue to support their herculean efforts.
UPDATE: The following site was shared to us that will be a hub for community driven change in Western NC. It centralizes giving and volunteer opportunities to make a difference.

Outer Banks Community Foundation
With the help of their sister organizations in the Western part of the state, a list of vetted organizations was put together for folks looking to make an impact through financial contributions. Please consider donating to any of the organizations, non profits or groups on this list.
Michael Stokes at Flying Fish Screen Printing
Michael arrived on site at OBX Aviation with a truck and trailer to transport donated items that we could not get onto planes due to weight restrictions. He had turned his warehouse into a donation center accepting, sorting and packing donations, coordinating volunteers, drivers, trucks and trailers and is still doing so. He is in direct contact daily with the Folks at Project Altitude who are coordinating ground efforts.

Ronda is always stepping up to help. It's no surprise that she is working her contacts to provide containers and trailers for housing donations that will be transported to Western NC. Donation drops are located at her office on the Currituck Mainland and in Corolla.

Again, these are just a few examples of our amazing community coming together to do good. There are so many businesses, individuals and organizations that have stepped up and continue to support the needs of our neighbors out west. All I can say THANK YOU to each and everyone who has donated, coordinated, sorted, packed, driven and delivered much needed assistance to the western part of the state
The magnitude of the damage is immense, the recovery will be lengthy and as my friend Chris from OBCF reminded me, "this is a marathon not a sprint." At Our EPIC Project and Outer Banks Boil Company we will continue to support the recovery efforts and know the immediacy of those initial efforts will evolve into the next phase over the coming months.
Doing Good Feels Good. Doing Good Together Feels Great! Thanks for being on this EPIC Journey with us!
